Chief Minister meet Congress top leaders - hectic talks on

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy is in New Delhi following a call from the Congress high command. The Chief Minister will seek the advice of the party leaders in New Delhi to decide the resignation of Roads and Buildings minister Dharmana Prasada Rao. A majority of the senior cabinet ministers in Kiran Kumar Reddy's government are supporting his continuance and is pressuring the CM not to accept the resignation.

Sources said that the Ministers - J Geetha Reddy, Sabitha Indira Reddy, Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Kanna Lakshminarayana were only given notices by the Supreme Court and an appropriate decision would be taken if they were charge sheeted by the CBI.

The Chief Minister had hectic consultations with Union Ministers AK Anthony, P Chidambaram and Ghulam Nabi Azad and was informed that if the resignation of Dharmana was still kept on hold, it is likely that it will send wrong signals to the public.

Chiranjeevi for key post?

In the backdrop of the recent happenings, the half-hour meeting between Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi and AICC president Sonia Gandhi gained prominence. It is understood that Chiranjeevi might be entrusted with higher responsibilities in the coming days.
