  • State Government fixes Engineering College courses fee at Rs. 35,000, following talks with managements of engineering colleges.
  • Vijaya Reddy, daughter of late P Janardhana Reddy joins YSR Congress Party.
  • Film actor Nandamuri Balakrishna met with Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu today. This is the first meeting between the two after Balakrishna said that he is to serve in a post for the party. The meeting lasted for an hour. Sources say that the recent BC and SC categorization issue has come up in the discussion.
  • The Amberpet police in Hyderabad arrested a three-member gang who are making fake currency. The police recovered Rs. 90000 fake currency, a printer and a computer, said the East Zone DCP. They are identified as Srinivas Reddy from Karimnagar, Rajasekhar from Adilabad and Venkat Reddy from Mahabubnagar.
  • Police arrested TDP MLA Sai Raju
    The police arrested Itchapuram MLA P Sai Raju. He was arrested at his residence and shifted him to Baruva police station. Tension prevailed as the TDP activists staged protests and tried to obstruct the police from arresting the MLA. He was involved in the anti-thermal power plant agitation on April 30, 2010 and the police booked a case against him.
  • The Sompeta TDP MLA Sai Raju who was arrested was produced before the Magistrate. The court has sent the MLA to remand till 24th. He is shifted to the Srikakulam jail. TDP senior leader Yerrannaidu condemned the arrest.
  • The Telugu Desam Party leaders here have given a bandh call in Sompeta on Monday. The decision has taken following the arrest of TDP MLA Sairaju . TDP leader Yerram Naidu demanded his unconditional release.
  • Whip Jagga Reddy criticizes Jaipal and KK
    Government Whip Jagga Reddy fired on the Union Minister for Petroleum S Jaipal Reddy and K Keshava RAo. He alleged that the both are trying to unseat Kiran Kumar Reddy as Chief Minister. Jagga Reddy charged that Jaipal Reddy is playing double game by saying saying Jai United Andhra on one said and supporting Telangana state on the other. He criticized Keshava Rao who said that separate Telangana will be formed by destabilizing the government. Jagga Reddy alleged that Keshava Rao is acting as an agent of TRS president KCR and demanded an apology.
  • A bandh call given by ABVP on fee reimbursement to close all educational institutions across the State on Monday has been postponed temporarily. The decision was taken following the announcement by the Ministers' committee.
  • The leaders of the College Managements association KVK Rao demanded the government to announce the dates of engineering counseling immediately.
  • In a ghastly road accident today on the Yanam road, five fishermen were killed and four others were seriously injured. All the dead are from Tallarevu. The accident occurred while they were returning from Yanam on an auto after purchasing fish. The auto collided with a tipper resulting the accident. Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has directed the district collector to extend immediate medical aid to the victims. He expressed condolences to the family members of the deceased.
  • Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah on Sunday inaugurated an old age home at Medchal in the presence of Swami Paripoornanada Saraswati. Speaking on the occasion, Roasiah emphasized the need of old age home in the changed cultural system.
