  • The Telangana Congress MPs have met with the new home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and Corporate Affairs minister Veerappa Moily today. MPs Ponnam Prabhakar, Rajaiahand Suresh Shetkar told media that their visit is only a courtesy call and has no significant prominence.
  • The forensic experts are collecting evidence from the S11 compartment of the Tamil Nadu express on the second day today. The train had a fire accident that killed 47 a couple of days ago.
  • A cheating case against Deccan Chronicle chairman T Venkattram Reddy has been filed under IPC sections 420, 468, 406 and 471. The case has been filed on the basis of a complaint by Karvy group.

  • The Communist Party of India has launched the 'Rythu Poru Bata' in Guntur. Speaking on the occasion, CPI State Secretary K Narayana demanded the cancellation of VANPIC tenders completely and to hand over the lands to the farmers.
