  • Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha and PCC President Botcha Satyanarayana left to New Delhi today to meet the Congress high command. The AICC has summoned the leaders to appear before them to resolve the rift between the CM and PCC president. The deputy CM and PCC president left to New Delhi from Shamshabad airport first and CM left alone later. Kiran Kumar will meet Congress in-charge for state affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad in the evening.
  • The steering committee meeting of the Joint Action Committee was held in Hyderabad today. The JAC leaders have discussed the steps to prevent suicides for the Telangana cause and the strategy to be adopted as part of the Telangana movement in the future.
  • Defense Minister AK Antony has commissioned the nation's first nuclear powered submarine INS Chakra in Visakhapatnam today. With this, India has become part of the elite league of nuclear submarine owing countries.
  • A delegation from the CBI central office in New Delhi has reached Hyderabad to review the progress of the high profile cases taken up by the CBI in the state. Vineet Kumar Gupta and Abdul Ajeez will review the disproportionate assets case against Jagan Mohan Reddy, Emaar Township Hills and Obulapuram Mining case among others.
  • Liquor syndicate dealer Balaraj Goud told reporters that he is not sure why the ACB has arrested him. He said that he followed the law while conducting business and has never bribed anyone.
  • Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh toured in his hometown of Potladurti for the first time after being nominated to the Rajya Sabha. Speaking to reporters, he said that the party has given him due recognition for the efforts he has put in for the past 25 years.
  • TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu will kick off the campaign for the upcoming by-elections in 18 constituencies from Tirupati. He will address a public meeting on the 9th. Chandrababu will meet the party leaders in Tirupati on 10th and with Rayachoti constituency leaders on the 11th.
  • Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan will leave to New Delhi on Monday. He will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, AICC chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram.
  • Case against film actor Nikhil Reddy registered in a cheque bounce case.
