  • Former Minister JC Diwakar Reddy opined that setting deadlines on the Telangana issue is not proper. He said that the AICC President Sonia Gandhi will take a decision on the issue basing on the democracy of the country and that all Congress leaders should abide by her decision. Commenting on Jagan's Odarpu Yatra in Anantapur, he said that it is alright if there are any aggrieved that are to be consoled in the district. On Congress leaders taking part in the programme, Diwakar Reddy said that any disciplinary action on them will be taken care by the high command and PCC Chief.
  • The Telugu Desam Party politburo meeting was held today in Hyderabad. The meeting will be convened by party chief N Chandrababu Naidu.
  • The Bharatiya Janata Party will stage a 24 hour protest at Indira Park in Hyderabad. BJP national leader Venkaiah Naidu and State President G Kishan Reddy will take part in the agitation. The protest is aimed at the Government demanding the release of seeds to the farmers on an immediate basis.
  • The State Cabinet meeting will be held today at 11:30 am. Ministers D K Aruna, Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, Ramreddy Venkat Reddy and P Shankar Rao who left to New Delhi yesterday will take part in the meeting. It is learnt that the rest of the Telangana ministers will not attend the meeting. Meanwhile, six ministers, MPs and other congress leaders of the Telangana region who are in New Delhi met at the residence of Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy today. It is learnt that Union Minister Jaipal Reddy is also present in the meeting. They decide to write a letter to Sonia Gandhi urging her to take a decision by the month end on Telangana issue.
  • Nizamabad MP speaks to media about the Telangana MPs meeting with Pranab Mukherjee yesterday. Says that a decision on the issue is likely to be taken by the Congress high command in a week.
  • Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka took charge of his office at the secretariat today. Speaker Nadendla Manohar Reddy, Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, PCC President Botcha Satyanarayana, few ministers and legislators were present on the occasion.
  • TDP senior leader K Yerran Naidu criticized that the Government is worried that their ministers will be exposed if a house committee on the land allotments is formed. He said that the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy is trying to save his seat by delaying the formation of house committee on the issue.
  • PRP President and MLA Chiranjeevi inaugurates a ration shop in Tirupati.
  • The famous Venkateswara Temple of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam in Tirumala is reopened at 7am today. The temple was closed since yesterday on the account of lunar eclipse.
  • The Yajurveda Mandiram is reopened today. The members of the Sathya Sai Trust who met today has entered the mandir in the morning today. Among those who entered the mandir are Sathyajit, NV Giri, Ratnakar, Chakravarthy and Srinivas. However, the media is not allowed to enter the mandir.
  • YSR Congress Party President Jagan Mohan Reddy will tour in Kadapa for three days starting on June 17th. The details of his schedule were announced by Pulivendula constituency incharge YS Bhaskar Reddy today.
  • Jagan met and consoled MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi at the later's residence in Hyderabad. Akbaruddin was attacked at Barkas on April 30, 2011. He was later admitted at the CARE hospital and was discharged recently.
  • Anantapur Urban MLA B Gurunath Reddy confirms allegiance to Jagan Mohan Reddy. Says he will take part in Jagan's Odarpu Yatra from June 20 onwards.
  • The Anti-Corruption bureau raided the residence of a SC hostel warden Lal Singh in Peddapur of Nalgonda district. The hostel warden is facing allegations of having assets disproportionate to his known sources of income worth Rs. 1 crore.
  • The last rites of the Siddipet's first MLA Gurava Reddy were held today. CPI leader Gurava Reddy also served as an MLC. TRS leader K Chandrsekhar Rao, T Harish Rao and CPI leaders paid their final respects to Gurava Reddy today. KCR criticized that the Government hasn't given due respect to Gurava Reddy.
  • The DIET CET results were released today. 67.94% of those appeared have qualified.
