  • Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy announced today he will take part in campaigning for the Congress candidates in the upcoming byelection in Kadapa. Speaking to the media in New Delhi, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that Kadapa is a strong hold for the Congress party and expressed confidence that the party will emerge victorious in the byelection. Kiran Kumar also clarified that he has no differences with PCC President D Srinivas as reported in media earlier.
  • Kiran Kumar Reddy met with AICC President Sonia Gandhi today to discuss about the upcoming byelection in Kadapa. The Congress party has officially confirmed its candidates for the byelection. YS Vivekananda Reddy will contest in the Pulivendula assembly byelection, while minister DL Ravindra Reddy will contest for the Kadapa MP seat.
  • Lok Satta President Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan expressed his anguish that corruption has been increasing at an alarming rate globally. He said that it's ridiculous that even corrupted leaders are taking part in the war against corruption. Speaking to the media in Eluru, Jayaprakash estimated that approximately Rs. 100 crores would be spent by the political leaders for their victory in the upcoming byelection.
  • PCC spokesperson Tulasi Reddy has predicted today that the YSR Congress party won't exist after May 13th. Speaking to the media at Indira Bhavan in Kadapa, he said that casting vote for the Congress party would ensure development in the constituencies.
  • Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy met with senior officials from Home, Women and Child Welfare and Law departments today. She has directed the officials to implement the domestic violence act more stringently. It has also been decided to set up new women police stations in Rangareddy, Warangal, Guntur and Rajahmundry districts.
  • Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy who reached New Delhi yesterday will meet several party leaders and ministers today. Kiran will meet Sonia Gandhi, Ahmed Patel, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Sushil Kumar Shinde and Salman Khursheed today. It is learnt Kiran will raise the issue of nationalizing the Polavaram project with Salman Khursheed. He met Digvijay Singh yesterday.
  • The Telangana Political JAC steering committee will meet today at their office in the New MLA quarters today. They will discuss about the proposed Delhi tour on the 23rd of this month.
  • Governor ESL Narasimhan along with his wife offered special prayers at Badrachalam today.
  • The major organs of Sathya Sai Baba are working fine to an extent. However his health situation is still critical. A fresh health bulletin is released by Sathya Sai Super Speciality Hospital director Dr. Safaya in the morning today. The doctors are still performing dialysis on the Kidneys of Baba.
