Bhanwar Lal likely to be the next Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Pradesh


October 27, 2010 - Hyderabad

Senior IAS Officer and former Prinicipal Home Secretary Bhanwar Lal is likely to be the next Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Pradesh. According to reliable sources, the Election Commission of India has named Bhanwar Lal to fill the vacant Chief Electoral Officer seat in the state. Bhawar Lal has earlier served in various positions in Government Of Labour, Employment, Training and Factories departments. He had also served as the district collector of Hyderabad and as Commission of Civil Supplies.

The post fell vacant when the former Chief Electoral Officer IV Subba Rao was transfered to the Central Services. The State Government had earlier suggested Bhawar Lal, MG Gopal (Secretary of APPSC) and SP Tucker (Principal Secretary of Irrigation) for the post.
