TDP Leader from Krishna district, Chalasani Venkateswara Rao is found murdered in Hyderabad. Fondly called `Pandu` by his followers, Venkateswara Rao was found murdered at his Madhura Nagar apartment (Swapnika) in Hyderabad. He is a close aide of Harikrishna. Chalasani Pandu is scheduled to leave to Krishna district at 5 AM today. Initial reports suggest that his PA Mahender Reddy might be involved in the murder as he was seen escaping from the apartment`s window by watchman late in the night.

Venkateswara Rao lost in the 1999, 2004 and 2009 elections. He contested from the Vuyyuru assembly as an independent candidate in the 1999 elections which he lost to Animal Husbandry Minister K. Parthasarathy by 1000 votes. He also lost from the Penamaluru assembly of Krishna district. Chalasani Pandu initially worked with TDP leader Paritala Ravi. He later shifted his loyalities and developed friendship with another TDP Leader Nandamuri Harikrishna who helped him shift to TDP.

Chalasani Pandu would be cremated in his native village of Ventrapragada in Krishna district.
