Property worth Rs. 45 lakh recovered

Seven property offenders and three vehicle lifters were arrested by the Cyberabad police today. The police recovered property worth Rs. 45 lakh. Manikantan, aged 34, a notorious criminal at the Balapur X Roads has been nabbed by the police. Hailing from Tamil Nadu, Manikantan is reportedly involved in as many as 23 burglaries in Cyberabad. 67 tolas of gold ornaments, 1.2 kg of silver, electronic goods etc. were recovered from him.

The police also arrested Kakda Sandeep Sharma (Sandeep), Devender Singh, Laxmi (Panu), Katta Anjaneyulu and Dasari Venu. All of these criminals are between the age limit of 19 to 33. Speaking to the press, Police Commission of Cyberabad S Prabhkar Reddy said that Manikantan has been involved in house break-ins and thefts for the past seven years. He has been arrested by the Cyberabad police several times and was released from prison in June. After getting released, Manikantan got back to old ways and was involved in 23 more cases of theft. 'The trio are residents of Ramachandrapuram and led a lavish life. They decided to steal vehicles by preparing a false key. They went to Bhubaneswar and stole a Scorpio and changed the registration number before bringing it to the city. They also stole two motorcycles at Madhapur. Vehicles worth Rs 8 lakh were recovered from them,', said the Commissioner.
