Total investment of the plant over a period of five years amounts to Rs. 300 crore


It is good news for Anantapur as Berger Paints has decided to set up a water-based paint plant at Hindupur region in Anantapur. Subir Bose, the Managing Director of Berger Paints India Ltd. met with the Chief Minister K. Rosaiah and thanked him for the allotment of 48 acres of land for the set up of the plant. Berger Paints is India`s leading paint maker.

As per a statement from the Chief Minister`s office, the total investment of the plant over a period of five years amounts to Rs. 300 crore. The plant boasts a capacity of 150,000 KL/MT per annum and will be scaled up to more than 300,000 KL/MT per annum in over five years. The plant will also help recruit 400 employees by the time the project attains its full capacity.

Proposals for British Paints division in Gollapuram Industrial Area near Hindupur and a plastic and metal manufacturing unit by Seaward Packaging Pvt. Ltd. is also under consideration.
