CBI to file chargesheet on January 20, 2010 in Satyam sam

Exception given to Ramalinga Raju who was in hospital

The 14th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, K Sudhakr on Wednesday extended the judicial remand of all the nine accused in the Satyam Scam till January 20, 2010. The magistrate gave exception to B Ramalinga Raju who was in hospital and the rest of the accused were produced before the magistrate. The magistrate directed the CBI to frame the chargesheet on January 20, 2010.

The CBI wanted to frame the chargesheet against all the accused on Wednesday but the counsel for Ramalinga Raju complained that his client did not receive the copy of the chargesheet as he was in hospital. The magistrate has asked Ramalinga Raju's counsel to receive the copy on behalf of his client. Asked for some more time, the magistrate had asked the CBI counsel to frame the chargesheet on January 20.

The CBI was framing the charges against the accused under Sections, 120(d), 409, 420, 467, 468, 477 and 477 (a) under IPC. The AP High Court in November had asked the Magistrate to start the trial within two months and the CBI had filed a supplementary chargesheet last month.
