  • Jagan Mohan Reddy to go on a 48 hour hunger strike in Vijayawada.
  • TDP President Nara Chandrababu Naidu's indefinite hunger strike entered fifth day today. He is continuing fasting at the NIMS Hospital where he has been forcibly admitted yesterday. Doctor Somaraju said that his health is in a critical condition.
  • A team comprising the MLAs of Telugu Desam Party is leaving to New Delhi today to submit a plea to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh requesting his attention to the farmers' problems in the state.
  • Union Minister Jaipal Reddy announced to the media that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has agreed to give an advance of Rs. 400 crore to help the rain-hit farmers in the state. Jaipal Reddy told the media that the Congress MPs have brought the attention of Manmohan Singh to the problems of farmers in the state today. He said that the Prime Minister has responded positively to the problem. Manmohan Singh will issue orders to the FCI to buy the color changed grains from the farmers immediately, Jaipal Reddy said.
  • A major accident has been averted to the Repally-Hyderabad passenger train today. A gangman has noticed that a track near the Jampani and Chinaravooru has been broken. Noticing that the train is coming in that direction, he made effort to stop the train. The train has been stalled for 40 minutes.
