Chandrababu Naidu opposes renaming Telugu Lalitha Kalatornam

Government has attracted sharp criticism from various sections of people and politicians in Andhra Pradesh on its decision to rename the 'Telugu Lalitha Kalatoranam'. Chandrababu Naidu, President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has urged the Chief Minister K Rosaiah to withdraw the orders issued to this effect. Chandrababu Naidu, in a letter to the CM, said that renaming the auditorium to 'Rajeev Telugu Lalitha Kalatoranam' is mortgaging the Telugu culture, self-respect and sentiments of the Telugu people.

He also that any change in the name of the Telugu Lalitha Kalatoranam is highly objectionable. He also noted that the Andhra Pradesh Government has renamed the airport the NTR airport under Rajeev Gandhi's name like many other schemes in the state while Governments in other states are renaming institutions after local stalwarts.
