A constable working in the Organization for Counter Terrorist Operations (OCTOPUS), H Anil Kumar has been declared as the 'overall best student' in the bomb disposal training course by the elite National Security Guards (NSG) on Wednesday. Director General of Police, RK Girish Kumar congratulated him and announced a cash prize of Rs.2,000.

Anil Kumar, who was in the team that diffused the bombs inside Mecca Masjid on May 18, 2007 had been sent for training in bomb disposal to the NSG training centre at Maneswar, Haryana. In the training course, he topped among the personnel belonging to different states, he said.

The Additional DGP Umesh Kumar holding additional charge of OCTOPUS, Additional DGP, Law and Order, AK Khan, DIG OCTOPUS Rajiv Ratan and SP OCTOPUS VC Sajjanar congratulated Anil Kumar on his achievement.
