The Controller of Explosives K Sundareshan deputed by the Central Government to probe into the Dachepalli twin blasts that took 12 lives on Monday visited the explosion site. Atmosphere at Dachepalli was charged up right from the early morning with people unhappy at none of the Government representatives making any promise of payment of compensation of the blast to the ten innocent victims of the blast from a large dump of illegally stored explosives. Traffic on the Guntur-Hyderabad State Highway was stalled for three hours.

The Chief Minister, K Rosaiah directed the District in charge Minister P Subash Chandra Bose and Endowments Minister G Venkata Reddy to visit the blast site and promise all help to the kin of the victims.

The Controller of Explosives said that local police and revenue department officials are responsible for checking the illegal storage of such explosive material. He said that he would prepare a separate report on the entire blast beginning with if the explosive material was stored outside the magazine, how did the accident take place and source of material its usage etc.,, and the type of explosive that led the explosion. The District Magistrate is responsible for the proper checking of the usage of explosive through his Revenue machinery, taking the help of police, he clarified.
