A meeting of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) rebels led by MLC K Dilip Kumar here on Sunday decided to launch the Telangana Vimochana Samithi to fight for the cause of separate Telangana in the second week of June. The day long meeting which was held to elicit views of individuals and organizations supporting separate Telangana also finalized a padayatra by Dilip Kumar and other leaders across Warangal, Khammam, and Nalgonda districts from June 7. The TVS would be formally launched after the padayatra.

Dilip Kumar and another leader V Prakash told the media that they heard the views of representatives of 35 organizations throughout the day. A consensus emerged during the deliberations that a political process to achieve statehood to Telangana failed because it did not focus on public and local issues. The movement would have speed up if the issues were adequately addressed.

The delegates urged the leadership to intensify the movement to intensify the movement with the goal to achieve statehood within three months. He also said the delegates were unanimous that the organization constitute of a collective leadership. Referring to the threat of disqualification as an MLC for defying TRS, Dilip Kumar said he was prepared to face the consequence as he had charted out his own course.
