To put an end to the row over the alleged slapping of a rural bank manager, Congress MP Manda Jagannadham on Thursday tendered an unconditional apology. He said that he had no personal grudge against the bank manager, Ravinder Reddy and termed it as an unfortunate incident. He said that the truth would come out later. He said that however, he is tendering unconditional apology to him to put an end to this said to media persons.

He was caught on camera slapping Ravindra Reddy, the branch manager of AP Grammena Vikas Banks at Uppunutula in Mahabubnagadistrict was summoned by the Congress High Command. Taking a serious view of the MP's action, the Congress leadership obtained a report from the State Congress President D Srinivas. The MP however defended himself saying that he did not intend to assault the bank employees. Basing on the complaint by the bank manager, the police registered a case against the MP on various charges.

A counter case was filed against the bank manager by some alleged supporters of the MP under the stringent Prevention of Atrocities against SC/STs. Rural Bank Employees Union has announced a series of agitational programmes.
