Home Minister appeals people to maintain calm and peace
Unhappy at the lack of clarity in the Union Home Minister’s statement and with the bundh call given by Telangana Joint Action Committee, life in Hyderabad and Telangana regions have come to a standstill. MLAs and other people representatives from the Telangana region have submitted their resignation.
Telugu Desam Party politburo member Nagam Janardhan Reddy was attacked allegedly by few students of the Osmania University today. The attack was done when he arrived at the University campus soon after submitting the resignation for his MLA post. Nagam Janardhan Reddy fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital immediately. TDP MLA E Dayakar Rao was attacked in the incident. Vehicles of the MLA are damaged. The security of the MLAs found it tough to save the MLAs from the mob. No policemen are reported to be near the spot when the incident occurred even though a large number of policemen are deployed round the campus.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Sabitha Reddy, speaking at the Secretariat said that the priority of the Government is to protect public and private properties. She said that the lives of the common man should not get disrupted. She appealed to the people to maintain calm and peace.
