CM Rosaiah to for New Delhi to meet Sonia Gandhi and other leaders on the issue

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh K Rosaiah is planning to reshuffle his 34 member Council of Ministers after seeking the Congress high command's approval for a change, according to media reports. It may be recalled the CM has earlier announced his visit to New Delhi after Christmas to meet the AICC president Sonia Gandhi and other Central leaders to discuss the political situation in the State as well as the proposed Cabinet reshuffle. According to reliable sources, the Chief Minister is likely to make extensive changes in his team by dropping some Minister, inducting fresh faces and going in for major alterations in the portfolios. The proposed Cabinet changes are said to have figured in the Chief Minister's discussions with the Central leaders during their interactions ahead of Union Minister's statement on holding wide ranging consultations on the separate Telangana.

A Cabinet reshuffle, the sources pointed out, is over due since Rosaiah's team inherited totally from the lade predecessor Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy lacked cohesion ever since it was constituted in September. Firstly a large number of Ministers openly declared their allegiance to Dr.YSR's son YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and some even declared that they had no faith in Rosaiah.

One of the among is Konda Surekaha, went to the extent of tendering her resignation straight to the Governor. The fissures widened after political turmoil over Telangana. Soon as the Centre announced its decision to initiate the process of statehood for Telangana, as many as 20 Ministers said they would resign from the Cabinet. The Chief Minister now wants a team whose members will devote more attention to the official rather than the political agenda since governance as well as development have taken a beating during the past 25 days.
