Hyderabad, November 1, 2007

The Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajaskehara Reddy while addressing a gathering at the AP Formation Day celebrations on Thursday said that he would personally try to convince the Prime Minister, Man Mohan Singh on the Minimum Support Price for paddy on par with wheat. He said that the government was committed to farmers’ welfare and said he had already written a letter to the Prime Minister on the issue of MSP for paddy as soon as the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices submitted its recommendations.

An impressive parade by contingents of police, including horse riding personnel and a colorful song and dance programme by school children eulogizing the glory of the State marked the occasion at NTR stadium. The Chief Minister gave away medals to government staff on the occasion.
