State Election Commission stops poll process for Anksapur MPTC

With reports that the Village Development Committee (VDC) had auctioned the Mandal Territorial Constituency (MPTC) seas in Anksapur in Velpur Mandal of Nizamabad for Rs.1.80 lakhs coming out, the State Election Commission (SEC) directed the District Collector of Nizamabad to file a First Information Report (FIR) with the police and launch prosecution against the persons responsible for auctioning the seat.

The Commission Secretary GN Rao said that the commission had come to the conclusion basing on the report of the Collector, that there was prima facie case of auctioning of the seat and consequently of a corrupt practice and intimidation of the prospective candidate.
