Hyderabad, June 15, 2006

The State Election Commission (SEC) perturbed over complaints of the violation of model code of conduct by State Ministers, directed the State Government that no Government guest house or other accommodation including those in municipal areas should be allowed to be used for election propaganda or party meetings. Acting on the media reports that the Marketing Minister, B.Satyanarayana and Animal Husbandry Minister G.Surya Rao were holding meetings in Guest Houses in East and West Godavari districts.

The SEC has directed the concerned authorities to submit reports. The Commission also directed that no Government Official should accompany the Ministers during their visit to districts except security personnel, but however, they can stay in Government Guest houses.
