Hyderabad, June 12, 2006Credit Rating Information Services of India (CRISIL) ranked the Andhra Pradesh Power Sector has been ranked first among all States for its overall performance for the third successive year. The award will be presented to the State Government on July 13 in Delhi and the Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy has deputed Special Chief Secretary (Energy) AK Goyal to receive the award.
According to official press release, an amount of Rs.1300 crore out of Rs.2013 crore was invested in rural power supply development and sale of power to industries rose by 23.4 per cent compared to previous year. The revenue demand has reached all time high of Rs.11,857 crore during the year. The release said that the benefits of improved efficiencies were passed on to the consumers by the power utilities directly and the financial performance was excellent.
