Hyderabad, June 10, 2006The Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy reviewed the recent hike in petrol and diesel with the concerned official. On the suggestions from the Congress leadership, he advised that the sales tax on petrol be reduced from 34 to 33 per cent on petrol and on diesel from 23 per cent to 22.5 per cent.
This will cost the Rs.135 crore on the State Exchequer. The new prices are in Hyderabad - Petrol Rs. 53.26, and diesel Rs.35.98, in Visakhapatnam the petrol costs Rs.53.62 and diesel Rs.35.63.
