Governor and CM greets on Christmas eve
Governor Dr. C Rangarajan and Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu greeted Christians on the eve of Christmas. In their message, they felt that Jesus was an apostle of peace and love and the spirit of goodwill is of particular relevance to us in India.

AP Transco not to be after farmers
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu has assured farmer community that Transco will not target ryots to recover power dues. He said that the current drought situation in the state was one of the worst-even during the last three decades. He also said that all necessary steps would be taken to mitigate drinking water crisis in the coming summer.

Former Union Minister Mallikarjun passes away
Former Union Minister Mr. Mallikarjun died of heart attack in the evening. Mr. Mallikarjun served as Deputy Minister for Railways in the Indira Gandhi's Ministry. He is survived by his wife and three sons.

CM inaugurates the first DWACRA Supermarket in Nizamabad
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the first DWCRA - Apna Bazaar Supermarket of the state in Nizamabad. Mr. Naidu also instructed Minister Mr. B. Gopalakrishna Reddy and Commissioner of women empowerment Ms. Ramalakshmi to prepare an action plan for setting up such markets in all mandals. Later, Mr. Naidu laid the foundation for construction of new Collectorate complex. He inaugurated the 300-bedded hospital.

The Telengana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has decided to hold bandh throughout telengana demanding share of water from Krishna and Godavari rivers. Speaking at a press conference, TRS President Mr. K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that the bandh is not political in nature as it involved life and death of three crore people of Telangana.

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Ms. Jayalalitha arrived in Hyderabad for a week-long sojourn. She is accompanied by her friend Sasikala and her secretary Sheela Bhaskaran.

The APCO Employees Union has decided to hold an agitation from December 27 to press their demands. The demands include wage revision, sanction of the pending DA's and other benefits.

The AP Degree College Lecturers' Association demanded immediate payment of salaries to lecturers who were recruited under the SC and ST backlog recruitment policy.
