Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal likely to miss out PCB central contract

Pakistani all- rounder Shoaib Malik and out of favour wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal are likely to be excluded from the Pakistan Cricket Board's central contracts players list.

The recommendations for Central Contracts for the period January 1, 2012 to June 30, 2012 are ready to be sent to PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf for his approval.

Twenty seven Pakistan cricketers have been listed in the three categories, with eight players listed for the highest category (A), ten players listed for the middle category (B) and nine listed for the lower category (C), PakPassion.net reports.

Pakistan captain Misbah ul Haq, off-spinner Saaed Ajmal, opening batsman Mohammad Hafeez and Younis Khan have been included in the top category.

Shahid Afridi and Abdul Razzaq are also expected to receive a Category A contract, subject to Ashraf's approval.

Pakistani cricketers are given central contracts containing three pay slabs.

Players classed as Category A currently receive 250,000 Pakistani rupees (2,750 US dollars) per month, Category B players are eligible for 175,000 Pakistani rupees (1,940 US dollars) with Category C players earning 100,000 Pakistani rupees (1,100 US dollars) per month.

These payments exclude match fees, allowances, logo sponsorship share and bonuses paid to the players.

Full list of recommendations is as follows:-

Category A: Misbah ul Haq, Younis Khan, Umar Gul, Shahid Afridi, Muhammad Hafeez, Saeed Ajmal, Abdul Razzaq, Abdur Rehman.

Category B: Imran Farhat, Sohail Tanvir, Umar Akmal, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Wahab Riaz, Taufeeq Umar, Adnan Akmal, Aizaz Cheema, Junaid Khan.

Category C: Muhammad Talha, Fawad Alam, Muhammad Ayub Dogar, Sarfraz Ahmed, Muhammad Khalil, Yasir Shah, Ali Imran Pasha, Afaq Rahim, Raza Hasan
