Manchester United ranked most valuable sports team by Forbes

Even as Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that their number one priority is to reclaim the Premier League title, Forbes magazine has announced that Manchester United is the most valuable club among sports teams around the world. The club is valued at $2.23 billion.

The club enjoys lucrative global sponsorship deals with AIG, Turkish Airlines and DHL among others. Manchester City lost the Premier League title last season on goal difference, in a last-minute goal by rivals Manchester City against Queens Park Rangers.

Spanish Football club Real Madrid is ranked second at $1.88 billion. They are followed by baseball team New York Yankees and American Football club Dallas Cowboys.
