Man U's Young says 'fearful' Man City is reeling under pressure

April 4, 2012 - London

Manchester United winger Ashley Young believes title contenders and old foes Manchester City are fearing their reaction now, as many had written them out of the title race once City had developed a seven point lead over them.

"I think City are fearing our reaction already. A lot of people wrote us off earlier in the season with City being seven points clear. But we've just been going about our job quietly and now we've managed to claw it back," The Sun quoted Young, as saying.

The highly anticipated Manchester derby on April 30 at Etihad Stadium had been touted as a potential title decider by many, but now the City fans are dreading the possibility of United retaining the Premier League title at their home ground.

Young believes the champions United have shown they have the capability to go the distance while their neighbors have snapped under pressure.

"The pressure has always been on City. There aren't any nerves coming from our side. We don't play with fear and we haven't got any nervousness going into games. We've got the momentum going into the final stretch of the season," he said.

By the time City play Arsenal on Sunday they could be eight points adrift of United, who have a lunchtime clash with QPR the same day.

"We have another massive game on Sunday and it's not going to be easy. But we play before City and can put ourselves eight points clear of them, which at this stage of the season is massive. Winning at Blackburn on Monday was a huge result. This is a crucial time of the season for us, everyone knows that," he added.
