As Indian cricket superstar Yuvraj Singh returned home after undergoing treatment for germ cell cancer in the USA, his mother Shabnam Singh expressed happiness, saying the feelings were analogous to that of winning the world cup.

"We are very happy; it is a happy moment. We have a feeling as if we have once again won the world cup," she told the media here.

Shabnam, known to be Yuvraj's biggest strength, said she's extremely happy to have him back home.

"I am very happy that he is back. I think that the entire nation has been so good and he is so grateful that everyone is there. He does not have to see any doctor before another three months. For now, he will just take rest," she added.

Yuvraj, who was adjudged the player of the tournament at the 2011 ICC World Cup, had gone to the United States for treatment in January this year.

He was diagnosed with a golf ball-sized non-malignant tumour. However, later in February, the doctors told him that he was suffering from 'mediastinal seminoma'.

Singh, 30, underwent three sessions of chemotherapy in Indianapolis at the I. U. Simon Cancer Centre at the Indiana University Medical Centre in the care Lawrence H Einhorn, who had in 1996 headed the treatment of cycling champion Lance Armstrong, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer.
