Becker sure Lendl will help Murray "smell moment" he is poised to break Grand Slam duck

June 26, 2012 - London

Former tennis star Boris Becker believes world no. 4 Andy Murray's coach Ivan Lendl will help him to "smell the moment" when he is well placed to break his Grand Slam duck.

Becker said Murray has chosen the perfect mentor in Lendl, because he never cracked the enigma code at Wimbledon either.

"I think the appointment of Ivan Lendl as his coach was a smart move, not least because he went through a similar problem in his career: no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't win Wimbledon," the Daily Star quoted Becker, as saying.

"They make a good double act and already I have seen signs of improvement in Murray's game, a much better attitude, for starters, and there has been a big improvement in his forehand," he added.

Murray begins his annual trawl through the strawberry fields of Wimbledon with the first-round against Nikolai Davydenko today.
