Arthur expects 'hurt' India to bounce back in Twenty20 series

January 31, 2012 - Melbourne

Australian coach Mickey Arthur has said he expects a 'hurt' India to bounce back in the Twenty20 series.

"There's no doubt in my mind we're going to see a totally different India arrive for the Twenty20s and the one-dayers," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Arthur, as saying.

"They're definitely hurting. They've got players in that bring a huge amount of enthusiasm, thinking of the likes of (Suresh) Raina, Rohit Sharma - (Virat) Kohli's a quality player - those types of players," he added.

His statement comes after India suffered a 4-0 whitewash in the Test series, with the defeat in the Adelaide Test.

Arthur said that inclusion of new players in Indian squad would strengthen the side, but said there will plenty of freshness in his own T20 squad too, with T20 captain George Bailey, Travis Birt, James Faulkner and Brad Hogg being included in the team.

"It was really nice meeting a whole new group of players and it almost refreshed us as a support staff because you've been on the road so long with the Test team ... to see some new players was really exciting," Arthur said.
