Pak proposes CBM on women's cricket

June 24, 2011 - Islamabad

Apart from big ticket proposals like confidence building measures on nuclear safety and security and cross-LoC trade, some out of the box ideas were also floated especially from Pakistan during the Foreign Secretary-level talks in Islamabad.

During the two-day talks, the Pakistani side proposed the establishment of cricketing ties between the women cricket teams of India and Pakistan, ANI has learnt.

Pakistan has one of the best women cricket teams, which won gold medal at the Asian Games last year.

During the discussions, Islamabad also came up with the idea of forming a women forum between India and Pakistani women.

India is seriously considering the proposals which means that the day is not far when cricket crazy South Asian nations would be witnessing a cliffhanger women cricket tournament. By Naveen Kapoor
