Disappointed Vettori vows to make comeback in IPL

April 13, 2011 - Bengaluru

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Daniel Vettori has said that he is very disappointed with the loss to Mumbai Indians in front of the home crowd.

Mumbai Indians on Tuesday registered a nine-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore in their second match of the Indian Premier League in Bangalore.

Vettori also said that their team would definitely make a comeback and emerge as a stronger team in the upcoming matches of the tournament.

"I think particularly for lot of us who have lost our first game in front of Bangalore crowd, so we felt that we have let them down with that performance. It is kind of sinking game of season but we are going to pick up ourselves pretty quickly.

"We have got couple of quick games in row and it is important that we play well because Mumbai obviously is one of the favourites and Chennai next. So it is keep going on and you just have to pick up every time," Vettori said.

Expressing happiness, Ambati Rayudu, batsman of Mumbai Indian team who scored a quick half-century, said guidance and support of batting maestro and team skipper Sachin Tendulkar helped him to perform well.

"He just kept telling have patience, just you would come good and would get runs, so I was just following whatever he was telling me and thank fully we ended up winning the game easily," said Rayudu.

The Indian Premier League is witnessing its fourth season.
