Collingwood backs Australia to emerge stronger after 'difficult' rebuilding process

December 14, 2011 - Sydney

Former England all-rounder Paul Collingwood reckons that the rebuilding process that Australia is currently going through is exactly what every other team goes through.

"I guess what Australia have been used to is 10 to 15 years of dominance when every other team in the world was hunting around trying to find the best formula," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Collingwood, as saying.

"They can be difficult these situations. Along the way you're going to lose some and win some. You've been successful for so long, once you go through a period of what every other team has gone through it seems to be the end of the world," he added.

He further said that from a team point of view, Australia needs strong players to stand up to build a culture in the side.

"I know with England one of the main things was to build that work ethic, that team togetherness. These things take time," Collingwood said.
