Cantebury batsman Nicol named New Zealand's 2010-11 season MVP

Canterbury batsman Rob Nicol has been named the overall Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2010/11 domestic cricket season.

Nicol was the leading one day run-scorer with 648 at an average of 72. He was also the top scorer in the Twenty20 competition with 285 at an average of just under 32. The four day competition saw Nicol hit 449 runs at an average of 32, the New Zealand Herald reports.

Otago fast bowler Neil Wagner was second in the rankings, while Andrew Ellis finished third.
