Pak coach Younis insists Riaz available for remaining ODIs against England

Pakistan cricket coach Waqar Younis has insisted that fast bowler Wahab Riaz is available for matches despite the revelation that he is the under the scanner for spot-fixing.

Islamabad, Sept 12 : Pakistan cricket coach Waqar Younis has insisted that fast bowler Wahab Riaz is available for matches despite the revelation that he is the under the scanner for spot-fixing.

Younis has shown no qualms about playing him in the remaining one-day internationals against England.

"He's in the (squad of) 15. All 15 are available," the Dawn quoted Younis, as saying.

Riaz did not play the opening one-dayer against England at the Riverside, and Pakistan insisted his omission was purely tactical, and after England won the match, after piling up 274 for six in rain-reduced 41 overs, Younis reiterated: "I'm told by the management that he is available, and that's where my line comes."

Controversy hit 25-year-old Riaz in only his second Test at Lord's, where he bowled two wides and eight no-balls. He is the fourth Pakistani cricketer to be interrogated by Scotland Yard, who have already questioned team-mates Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif spot-fixing allegations.

Butt, Amir, and Asif have been provisionally suspended by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and have returned to Pakistan.
