CWG: Harpreet Singh wins gold in shooting

Shooter Harpreet Singh won gold in 25 metre centrefire pistol shooting event at the XIXth Commonwealth Games today.


New Delhi, Oct 10 : Shooter Harpreet Singh won gold in 25 metre centrefire pistol shooting event at the XIXth Commonwealth Games today.

Harpreet scored 580/600 to bag the gold.

On Saturday, Harpreet won gold in the centre fire pistol pairs event with a 19-point margin over New Zealand.

Earlier, archer Deepika Kumari won gold in the women's recurve archery singles while Dola Banerjee won the bronze in the same event.

Depika bagged gold by beating England's Alison Jane Williamson.

Earlier, Dola had lost out to England's Williamson in the semis.

India's total medal tally: Gold- 26, Silver-17, Bronze-18. Total-60.
