Faced with various investigations by Government departments for irregularities, the suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) Commissioner Lalit Modi arrived in the capital on Wednesday (April 28).


New Delhi, April 28 : Faced with various investigations by Government departments for irregularities, the suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) Commissioner Lalit Modi arrived in the capital on Wednesday (April 28).

He has been suspended for his role in alleged corruption in the world's richest cricket tournament-IPL.

According to reports, Modi arrived in Delhi to seek legal opinion on the show cause notice issued to him by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Modi, however, refused to give any comment on his visit. "I am not ready to give you anything, why you are pushing me," he replied when asked by reporters about his visit.he Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended Modi earlier this week.

The Government has launched a tax investigation into the financing of the USD 4.1 billion sports franchise.

The scandal has claimed Shashi Tharoor, who resigned after Modi stated that the former allegedly used his political influence for Kochi IPL franchise and also rallied opposition against the Government.

Modi was suspended just after the finals of the third edition of the IPL ended on Sunday.
