Shilpa Shetty prays at Golden Temple for IPL success

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty offered prayers at the Golden Temple in Amritsar for the success of her co-owned Rajasthan Royals team in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Amritsar, Apr 10 : Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty offered prayers at the Golden Temple in Amritsar for the success of her co-owned Rajasthan Royals team in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Other Bollywood stars of yesteryears like Jitendra, Prem Chopra and Poonam Dhillon accompanied Shetty.

This year the IPL season is being hosted by South Africa.

"IPL season is going to start. I have prayed that Rajashthan Royals does good this time," said Shetty.

The IPL, which involves many of the world's leading players, was a huge success in its inaugural edition in cricket-crazy India last year, primarily because it was structured around city-based franchises with a fan base in home and away matches.

The eight-team league has been shifted to South Africa from April 18 due to security reasons and would return to India next season.

The BCCI wanted to stage the event overseas after failing to get government clearance for security cover as the tournament's dates clash with the country's general elections.
