Karnataka, Oct 7 : The Australian team has arrived here to play the first Test against India from Thursday.
Australia will look to repeat their 2-1 series triumph of four years ago. It was their first series victory on Indian soil in 35 years.
The second Test will be held in Mohali on October 17, while New Delhi and Nagpur would stage the last two matches.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka State Cricket Association felicitated former skipper and Indian batsman Rahul Dravid at the Chinnaswamy stadium here for joining the exclusive club of players who have scored 10,000 Test runs.
"The greatest thing for me, I think has been the ability to play. The honour I have had to play with some of these legends, to have interacted with some of these legends here today," Dravid said.
Ace Indian batsmen Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar, West Indian batsman Brian Lara, former Aussie captains Allan Border and Steve Waugh are the other five batsmen to have accumulated over 10,000 Test runs.
Tendulkar unveiled a unique wall comprising of 10,000 bricks representing Dravid's 10,000 runs in both forms of the game. The wall also has Dravid's statue playing his trademark cover-drive.
