Shocked O.J. Simpson senses a conspiracy

Former American football star O.J. Simpson is in a state of shock over his conviction for armed robbery and kidnapping, a verdict that could put him behind bars for the rest of his life.

Las Vegas, Oct.6 : Former American football star O.J. Simpson is in a state of "shock" over his conviction for armed robbery and kidnapping, a verdict that could put him behind bars for the rest of his life.

"I can't believe I'm in here for this nothing incident," he said, and termed his incarceration a conspiracy.

After deliberating 13 hours Friday, a jury of nine women and three men - none of them black - found Simpson and Stewart guilty of all 12 criminal charges stemming from their September 13, 2007, confrontation with two memorabilia dealers.

The conviction came on the 13th anniversary of Simpson's acquittal in the murders of his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her pal Ron Goldman. The memorabilia dealers told cops Simpson had robbed them at gunpoint. Simpson unsuccessfully maintained that he never saw a gun and only wanted to retrieve family heirlooms stolen by a former manager.
