Indo-Pak wrestling competition to promote good relationship held

To promote good relations between India and Pakistan, a one-day wrestling competition called Mission Dosti(mission friendship) was held at Katra in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

Katra (Jammu and Kashmir), Oct 6 : To promote good relations between India and Pakistan, a one-day wrestling competition called "Mission Dosti"(mission friendship) was held at Katra in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

Five wrestlers from Pakistan entertained the spectators who had gathered at the venue from far off places.

"There is no difference between Pakistan, India and Jammu and Kashmir. The governments (of both countries) should unite and the people should come together," said Abdul Rehman a wrestler from Lahore.

"People in India love us a lot. I visited Katra on three-four occasions and Punjab 10-12 times. The governments should definitely converge," added Rehman.

Olympian bronze medal winner Sushil Kumar was the star attraction.

"Wrestling is a game of love and Pakistani wrestlers are equally happy when we win medals. When we won medals in Olympics, Pakistani wrestlers were as happy as we were. I believe it (wrestling competition) has made a new beginning," said Sushil Kumar, the wrestler who won the bronze medal in the Beijing Olympics.

The festival is being organised since 2005.
