First Sikh England cricketer Monty Panesar is all set to play club cricket in Sri Lanka to hone his leg-spin skills ahead of the two Tests against India in Ahmedabad and Mumbai in December.
London, Oct 16 : First Sikh England cricketer Monty Panesar is all set to play club cricket in Sri Lanka to hone his leg-spin skills ahead of the two Tests against India in Ahmedabad and Mumbai in December.
His coach Peter Moores said that the leg-spinner will warm up for England's Test series in India by playing club cricket in Lanka.
"It's a great opportunity for him. He will learn a lot. He's been there before, they're physically tough conditions, they are very good players of spin. Monty has not been in the England squad for a while but this will help him get ready for the first Test against India," The News quoted Moores as saying at Lords.
With more 100 Test wickets, 26-year-old Panesar has impressed cricketing giants across the world. But, he has not been picked in the England squad for one-dayers next month after he failed to impress against South Africa earlier this year.
