The ICC today asked BCCI President Shashank Manohar to meet the representatives of the Indian Cricket League, deferring a decision on Leagues strong plea for recognition.

Dubai, Oct 14 : The ICC today asked BCCI President Shashank Manohar to meet the representatives of the Indian Cricket League, deferring a decision on League's strong plea for recognition.

"The ICC Board received an application for approval from the Indian Cricket League (ICL). The Board resolved to adjourn its considerations to allow for discussions between Shashank Manohar, the President of The Board of Control for Cricket in India, and representatives of the ICL," the ICC said in a statement after the first day of a two-day Board meeting that started here.

"Manohar agreed to provide the Board with a full written report of those discussions in due course. New regulations governing official and unofficial cricket were also discussed following work by a sub-committee made up of ICC Head of Legal David Becker, Shashank Manohar, Giles Clarke, Norman Arendse and Lalit Modi," the statement added.

The ICC Board agreed that a final draft be submitted to the directors for consideration and approval.

Also up for discussion was the Future Tours Programme (FTP) post-2012.

With the current FTP due to run out in May 2012, the ICC Board discussed the concept of an alternative structure to bilateral tours, including the possibility of an enhanced Testhampionship.
