London, May 21 : Late opera legend Luciano Pavarotti's performance of the 'Nessun Dorma' aria has been named the most widely-played soccer song in a new survey.
The performance was the theme of BBC TV's coverage of the 1990 World Cup, reports The Sun.
The survey, conducted by the Performing Right Society, revealed it has taken up 20 per cent of airtime devoted to footie anthems over the past five years.
Meanwhile, Arsenal's 1998 FA Cup Final song Hot Stuff was No2 ahead of DJ Otzi's 2002 World Cup remix Hey Baby.
Pavarotti died from pancreatic cancer in September 2007, aged 71.
