Police colleagues of Indias lone WWE wrestler, The Great Khali rejoiced over his success when the star came visiting here on Tuesday.

Jalandhar, May 20 : Police colleagues of India's lone WWE wrestler, 'The Great Khali' rejoiced over his success when the star came visiting here on Tuesday.

Dalip Singh Rana, nicknamed 'The Great Khali' attended a felicitation organized by the Punjab Police along with his wife. He was taken to the venue in an open top jeep.

Cops dressed in traditional wear, danced to the beats of the popular 'Bhangra', while onlookers cheered as Khali's motorcade passed through the street.

Khali who is a sub-inspector with the Punjab Police Force is currently on long leave to enable him to compete in the WWE.

Speaking on the occasion, he expressed his gratitude towards the Punjabolice force and attributed his success to their kind cooperation.

"My colleagues and co-officers have helped me a lot. They have stood by me throughout and I owe a great part of my success to the Punjab Police force," said Khali.

He is also shooting for a Bollywood film `Khushti' while on vacation. The fighter who has already worked in a Hollywood movie 'The Longest Yard' will act in a Bollywood children's adventure film 'Ramma -The Saviour' also.

At seven feet three inches, Khali, 35, is the tallest WWE wrestler. He weighs 190 kg. He took to bodybuilding and won the Mr. India title in 1995 and 1996.

He worked as a porter before joining the state police in Punjab.
