The Mirror quoted an insider as saying that: "Sue (Ashley's mother) is making him apologise to the whole of Cheryl's family and to theirs too.

"She raised Ashley - mostly as a single mum - to respect women. She has given him the cold shoulder, and it's really getting to him as he is incredibly close to his mum. He paid special tribute to her at his wedding."

The latest on the Cole front comes days after "Girls Aloud" singer Cheryl Cole decided to forgive Ashley for his past sexcapades, and got back together with him.

The Sun quoted friends of the singer as saying that Cheryl could not bear to be apart from Ashley any longer.

"No matter how hard she tried to convince herself to Cheryl has told Ashley she is taking him back. But she has also told him things have to change," one of her friends said.

Chelsea and England defender Cole, 27, was dumped after it was revealed at the end of January how he cheated on Cheryl with hairdresser Aimee Walton, 22, and another glamour model Brooke Healey.

A distraught Cheryl moved out of the couple's mansion in Oxshott, Surrey, and proceeded to Thailand and Los Angeles to think things out. In the process she lost a stone in weight. Now, she is said to have told Ashley that she is prepared to give him another chance.

Cheryl has told Ashley that there will be no more boys' holidays ever again, and no more lads' nights out for a long time either, the source said. "He has also been told this is his last chance. Any slip up and she will divorce him without question," The Sun quoted a source, as saying.Cheryl only agreed to take England ace Ashley back after weeks of soul searching.
