Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar has suggested a balance of youth and experience to ensure a bright future for Indian cricket.
Mumbai, Mar 7 : Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar has suggested a balance of youth and experience to ensure a bright future for Indian cricket.
Tendulkar expressed this view on his return here from a ground felicitation ceremony in Delhi.
"This decision (youngsters getting more chances) is obviously of the selectors. It's not my decision. But, I have always felt that there should be a perfect balance between seniors and youngsters. And, if this balance is maintained properly, our future is good," he said.
"I don't want to comment on what the other players think about themselves. Because they know their mind and they know their bodies. Let us stick to the Australian series. Let us not drift away from this success that we have achieved," he added.
Tendulkar praised pacer Ishant Sharma and all-rounder Praveen Kumar for their outstanding performances.
"Ishant and Praveen are very promising players. Ishant bowled really well during the Test series. And, as series progressed Ishant's bowling form also improved. But, it was unfortunate that he got injured in the first finals. Whatever he is been able to produce on the tour, I think it's remarkable. We all can expect bigger things from him in the time to come," he said.
"Praveen also performed really well. He got us very crucial wickets. He succeeded in giving us early breakthroughs in the matches," he added.
