Beckham to get his 100th England cap if fit and in form: Capello

Fabio Capello has hinted that David Beckham may get his 100th England cap this year against France if he is fit and in form, and added that he was even prepared to fly to America to watch the former captain in action.

London, Mar 6 : Fabio Capello has hinted that David Beckham may get his 100th England cap this year against France if he is fit and in form, and added that he was even prepared to fly to America to watch the former captain in action.

Capello made the admission at a forum with England fans, who pressed him on Beckham's international future.

Currently on tour in China with his club Los Angeles Galaxy, Beckham will be watched, Capello said, by either himself or his assistant Franco Baldini when he plays against FC Dallas on March15.

"I know Beckham very well from Real Madrid and I hope David will play the 100th game and get that cap," Capello said.

"He will get his 100th cap if he is fit and in form," The Independent quoted Capello, as saying.

Beckham has 99 England caps and was left out of manager Capello's first squad.

If he fails to make the France game on March 26, he is likely to play in the Wembley friendly against the USA on May 28.

"I understand from reading his last interview that at this moment his fitness isn't good. I will phone him because I want to know exactly what he thinks about his fitness at this moment," Capello said.
