Becks set to play his 100th international for England

England football coach Fabio Capello has confirmed that David Beckham will win his 100th cap in todays friendly with France in Paris.

London, Mar.26 : England football coach Fabio Capello has confirmed that David Beckham will win his 100th cap in today's friendly with France in Paris.

Beckham will become only the fifth England player to reach 100 caps, reports The Mirror.

Asked whether Beckham will start the game, Capello told reporters: "He will play (some part), I could not possibly make him come from the USA and not play him. I know David Beckham and what he can give me and I think he can make the difference in some respects. I know what he can give to a team."

Capello added: "I think every player would like to reach this target (100 caps) but very few manage it, so you have to give David Beckham credit, he has done really well to achieve this."

Capello has decided to make Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand captain for this game, describing him as a very good professional.

Capello reckons Beckham is good for many more matches at the international level.

The Sun quoted him as saying: "The David Beckham I know can certainly last and get to 2010 if he carries on training as he has done. He has always been a very good professional. Only people like that can last so long in the game."

Capello made it clear the only thing that matters to him is getting the England team back to a position where they are respected and feared in football.
